The Dare.Dance.Digitalize team organizes for the second consecutive year the two-day dare Dance Festival (dDF) in May in Athens, at Cinema Ideal.

The organizers consist of Antonis Bertos, physical theater performer-psychologist, Artemis Manakou, physical theater actor-performer, kinesiologist and Vangelis Papaevangeliou, cinematographer-director. Since 2018, the group  combines psychology,  physical theater and digital technology  and aims to create short dance & video films with a strong artistic and social impact.

The aesthetics of the group, as well as its methodology, derives from the poetics of the space and the poetic body. He places particular emphasis on the public urban space and nature and how the body is positioned within these diametrically opposite places. The team insists on making time to listen to the stories the body tells and highlight them. The process is as important to Dare.Dance.Digitalize as the end result. The starting point of the group is a potentially philosophical curiosity about how we exist in the world, in the space that surrounds us as human beings who act and react every moment. This curiosity of ours, brings her face to face with the process of exploring different forms of dance kinesiology.. She looks behind the form... She focuses on subjectivity and how we come in relation to everything that surrounds us. It chooses routes, kinetic ideas and approaches with the body through various practices of physical theatre, contemporary dance, acting and authentic movement.

The pandemic, as a duration of immobility and multiple conannouncements highlighted new directions and goals. The main goal of the dare Dance Festival is to present to the public, artistic works that do not reproduce social conventions and representations, but become a powerful medium that will give space to the different and (co-)form the unformed.

The vision of dare Dance Festival is to unite more people and artists, more cities, different social groups, organizations through short films, dance videos and performances. It aspires to become the occasion for "fresh, lively dreamy and real artistic dialogues" that will bring together the multifaceted populations living in Greece and Europe, at a time when the challenges are enormous and the answer to them is necessary to contains more new representations, more art communication-research-inclusion and more passion for life!

The 2nd dDF will feature professional productions by Dare.Dance.Digitalize and team members. Also, dance videos of the participants, the seminar cycle for professional dancers and actors and the annual seminar cycle for people without previous experience in movement.

In addition, dDF23 is again this year a platform to showcase works by other artists who share his vision and aesthetic.
